By using this website you agree to these terms. They are short because the site is free and has no accounts.

The website

alertamap.com is operated by Velkan Studio LLC under its Terra Continua and AlertaMap brands; its postal address is at the foot of this page. It maps natural hazards reported by public sources and lets people share short reports about them. We may change, pause or stop any part of it, including report sharing.

Information, not an official warning

AlertaMap gathers information from public sources such as USGS, GDACS and NASA EONET, and that information can be late, incomplete or wrong. It is not an official warning or alert service, and the absence of something on the map never means a place is safe. Always follow the instructions of your local authorities and emergency services (such as 911 or 112). Community reports are unverified claims by other people, not official information. The about page says more.

Reports you share

Share only what you have observed yourself, and do not share false or abusive reports. A shared report is shown publicly for the time and on the terms its consent screen states. We may remove any report, or pause sharing, without notice.

Other sites

Links lead to sites we do not control, such as official agency pages and the share options for WhatsApp, Telegram and X. Their use is between you and that company, under its terms.

Our content

The site’s text, design and brands belong to Velkan Studio LLC, except third-party material: hazard data belongs to its sources, the base map is © OpenFreeMap © OpenMapTiles with data © OpenStreetMap contributors, and the Space Grotesk and Instrument Serif fonts are under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. You may link to any page and share it for personal use. To report material you believe infringes your rights, or a report that should be removed, write to contact@alertamap.com.

No warranty and limits on liability

The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make based on it or for losses arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer whose mandatory local consumer-protection law applies regardless of this choice, that law protects you too, and nothing here takes it away.
